Summary of the weekend

Saturday, it was cloudy, but it was hot and humid.  The bike just didn't want to get into the 10.90 like we wanted.  Dean did some adjustments and as the day went on and evening set in Dean tuned the bike just right to make it come alive and  reaching the 10.95 by the last round.  We qualified #8 in SEP and #13 in SE. We really did want to qualify in the top five to get more points in SE but it was just late in the day for that to happen.  As they say, it is only qualifying and Sunday is a whole nother day.

Sunday, again it is going to be hotter and more humid and now we have seen on the internet that rain is coming but not till the evening.  We are just hoping to get everthing in before this storm hits.

SEP proved to be a good day of racing for us.  We made it to the Quarter Finals (Money Round) and what a good race it was.  Keith Carper from Zipper Performance was able to push Dean out the door at the end of the track to take the win.

SE class was a whole nother story today.  We were able to run the bike in the 10.9's in the first round to make the show in the afternoon.  But second round proved to be a learning experience for us.

What has happened is that Walter had staged his first light and after he staged his second bulb then rolled back his  first bulb went out so he rolls back into it to get the stage light on and then left before the tree could be activated again.  This threw Dean off.  In racing, if a rider leaves and you haven't, your instict is to leave.  Dean has staged both his lights but before the tree could come down he had flinched when Walter went and this made  Dean go Deep.

We had really wanted this race and had the rule book out and talking to everyone we could to try and understand how no one won this race.  But after a good night of rest and thought we were able to understnd and accept (not like) what we had done.  Most everyone we talked to has done this but only once, so at least we got this learning experience out of the way so we don't do this again.
