What a weekend is was.  Last year, it was at this track that Dean had crossed the finish line and crashed.  He was alright, the bike had some damage, and we got a Win.  We wanted to come back here and do it again but with the rubber down this time.
Last year, it took awhile but we finally got the bike dialed in to the number to meet Scotty Hooper in an exciting final race.
This year, Dean knew what needed to be done and was determined to win the race.  Dean had told me that of all races that he hopes to win this one in St. Louis.   That if he only had one win out of the whole year, he wanted it here in St. Louis more than anything.
Well, we got Runner-Up and that is great!
The bike was fast this year with all the changes we had done over the winter so Dean was going to have to take the day to get the bike dialed in and he was happy by the end of the day.
Sunday he was determined.
Cut consistant lights and run with them and he could Get R'Done.
Second round was Donnie , cut a light on him and he had no chance.  Next round (Quater-Finals), is Curtis Talbot.  Cut another great light and took the strip for the win.  Semi Finals was Derek Christensen who seemed to be having problems and Dean took the win. Last round was Jimmy McMillan, what tough competition he was and it was also his day.  He took the win over Dean with cutting a better light because Dean promised no red light today and was just a little nervous at cutting the lights he did all day.  What a great race, Dean ran a better number but between Jimmy cutting a little better light and the difference in the 1/4 mile time Jimmy got the win.  Congrats Jimmy it was your day, and hope to see you again soon in the finals.
