No one could beat his 10.916 so he ran solo on his 3rd round to show everyone that he still could run the best number and had earned the #1 qualifying spot. |
| Sunday ceremonies announcing Dean as #1 qualifier in SE (10.90 index). |
| Sunday Eliminations SEP Reation Time 1/4 mile MPH 1st round Dean .014 11.311 109.34 WINNER England .231 11.179 111.62 2nd round Dean .004 11.234 94.91 Lost Charlie .024 11.330 83.39 It was a wheel race all the way down the track. Both Dean and Charlie knew they could run the number but it was going to be Charlie that put the brakes on right before the finish line to break out the least. SE 1st round-being #1 qualifier gave Dean a bye run (which means he doesn't have to race anyone) Dean .003 10.925 108.84 WINNER 2nd Round Dean -.004 (red light) 10.873 117.30 Lost Donnie .077 10.855 118.84 The one thing Dean didn't want to do was red light against Donnie. He knew he could run the number but would probably had to beat Donnie at the tree. Those darn red lights happen when you push it trying to cut a perfect light and in turn lost him the race. |
| Even though we drove 40 hours there and 40 hours back and over 4800 miles and didn't come home with a win, it was a great trip. We had some great local neighbors that helped us out and added some excitement to our stay. To top it off, both Dean and Larry earned points to help them move closer to the championship in their classes. |
